These photos were taken in the cooperative olive oil press on the northern part of Kythera, a small Greek island. During the 2-3 month olive harvest this little press is the hub of local village life. Driving past early morning or late at night, the lights are always on. Tractors and trailers stacked high with hessian bags filled with olives, pulling in and out. Conversations about this years harvest and the nervous wait to try ones new oil. Instant coffee, cigarettes, koulouris and the grassy smell of fresh green olive oil.
